In phonics this week we have been looking at 'ue' sound words. For your text homework try to write instructions for making a model of the planet Pluto using papier mache. Think of what we did in class to make each planet and in your instructions include a list of things needed and step by step instructions on what to do. Try to use as many 'ue' words as you can. To remind yourself how to set out instructions have a look at some instructions other children have written in the link below.

Making Pluto

1.balloon
2.watery glue
3.old newspaper
4.Pink paint
5.string
Instructions
1.Blow up a balloon to the correct size
2.Rip up some newspaper and dip into the watery glue and then stick the newspaper onto the balloon.
3.Put layers of the newspaper on so that it is strong.
4.Let the balloon dry and then pop the balloon inside Pluto.
5.Paint Pluto with pink paint and let it dry.
6.Tie the string to Pluto and then hang it p and you will have your own beautiful Pluto.

How to make The Planet Pluto.
ReplyDeleteYou will need:
1.A balloon
2.Newspaper
3.Glue
4.A tray
5.Paint brush
6.White paint
7.Blue paint
What to do:
1.Get a balloon and blow it up to the correct size.
2.Get some P.V.A glue and put it into a tub.
3.Then add a little bit of water into the glue.
4.Get your tray and set the glue and the balloon in it.
5.Then you pick up the paint brush and put glue on it.
6.Now you can start glueing the balloon.
7.Get the riped up newspaper and stick it onto the balloon.
8. Then you get a pin and pop the balloon when it has dried.(do all off above twice).
9.Then when you have done this two times then you stick with sticky tape the 2 halves together.
10.Then put a hole at the top with a pencil and put the string through the hole.
11.Next you paint the planet with white paint then let it dry,then paint over it with blue paint.
12.There you have the planet Pluto.

STEP 2. Tear up newspaper.
STEP 3. Blow up your balloon.

STEP 5. Leave it to dry.
STEP 6. Put the mixed glue and water on the balloon.

STEP 8. Paint it what ever colour you want.

How to make it:
First of all you blow a balloon up until it is the right size. Put glue into the pot and mix in some water. Put the balloon into the tray. Rip up some newspaper, dip it into the glue and then stick it on to the balloon. Do many layers of this so it will be strong. Leave it for a couple of days to let it dry, and then paint it white. Then leave it for a couple of days to let it dry and then paint it pink. When dry attach a string so you can hang it up.

First of all you have to blow a balloon to the right size and paint over it with glue when you did that put bits of newspaper on it and then colour it pink for pluto and your done.

Rip up some news paper into tiny bits.With your glue pot get a piece of paper then put it in the pot.Take it out of the pot and put it on the balloon.Put about 5 layers on and let it dry.Paint it white and when it drys paint it pink then pop the balloon.
