In phonics we have been studying the 'i' sound.
Try to write a short story using as many 'i' sound words as you can.
Remember this sound can be made in a number of ways.
Use each way as many times as you can.
This week's word list will help you.
Remember to check punctuation and grammar as well as spelling.
Post your story as a comment.

On Christmas morning my family woke at around 7.30am, Santa had left a half eaten biscuit at the fireplace. I had spent weeks buying presens, I bought my mum a pretty, crystal vase. After dinner I read my Club Penguin mystery book.

  2. For my summer holidays I went to Africa. We were walking along the street and we saw lots of people buying souvenirs. We saw a pretty woman who was sewing a quilt and we asked her why she was doing it out on the street. She didn't understand us so we found a translator and he asked her.She replied to him by saying she was doing it to get more money. We asked her why she does not just ship it off to other countries and she would get more money that way.The man just stared at us and said,"If we do that than they won't give us the money we need"We than replied to him by saying,"That is really sad we are really sympathetic for you."We felt guilty about this so we told them about an organisation called FairTrade and how they give people the right amount of money for what they do.They decided to go with FairTrade and her family and all the families who go with FairTrade are better off. When we come home we will make people familiar with the FairTrade symbol.

  3. Once upon a time there lived a pretty little girl called Beth. Beth was only at primary school, primary 6. She was very naughty, she fiddled, talked and never listened when the class were learning about syllables, symmetry or division. This day in school she was learning about symbols and of course Beth wasn't listening. So she decided she start eating biscuits in the middle of class. All her classmates weren't happy about this because they weren't allowed to eat in class, so there was a massive argument and nobody wanted to talk to Beth after that. Beth felt so guilty about starting a big argument, she sighed to her self. That afternoon she had to go to the hairdressers to get a trim. While getting her hair cut a pretty woman told her that she was from the Modelling Agency and they got talking. Beth was offered a job in the Modelling Agency. She took the job and all her friends decided to forgive her.

He turned frozen stiff. a voice in my head said to use the penguin so I jumped on the frozen man's back I slipped again I flew in the air.I seemed to grab hold of the willow shaped crystal and front flip down to the ground.suddenly I was back in class teacher said that's an ancient Japanese crystal where on earth did you get that I said it's a touch of magic I still had one mystery to solve who's voice was in my head.

  7. One night, I was under my quilt and I had a dream about a pretty girl who had crystal jewels around her neck. The girl was called Joanne and she always fiddled with her necklace. Her family seemed to be familiar to us and they lived only a short distance from my home. In my dream, I could see Joanne busily doing revision for her school exams and eating digestive biscuits. I felt guilty because I was supposed to be revising symmetry. I had told my mum that I had been revising hard but this was only lies. They would have no sympathy on me when they would discover that I had been texting jokes about penguins and krill to Kelsey instead of doing revision. What would be my punishment?
